VIC32, presently in James Watt Dock, will be going upriver on Friday to Yorkhill Quay, from where she will be doing day trips for the whole of next week. She was advertised to be working from Plantation Quay pontoon, but the Millennium Bridge (Science Centre) has broken down again.

s.v. Glenlee will say "yes" to AV tomorrow when she moves downriver to her Alternative Venue ;) at the new Riverside Museum.
I've heard that tugs are due at Yorkhill for 0930, but those with their ear closer to the water may have more accurate timings.

Yes there was a proposal for a bridge - but about half way between the mouth of the Kelvin and the expressway bridge.

The works in the Kelvin are not just for the ferry. All of the small boat activity that is currently based alongside the Glenlee at Yorkhill Quay needs will be accomodated in "Kelvin Harbour" as it will not be possible to have pontoons fixed to the outside of the ship in her new location by the Muse...

Yes, the pump inlet is located in a well below the dock floor. This is very sad news. I first met Tom when Amazon Hope 2 visited Glasgow. He subsequently arranged for the Yarrow Seagull to be refitted and lengthened. Nothing was too much trouble for Tom - he was an absolute Gentleman.

Is that a reflection, or a signal lamp working above the bridge at around 2minutes 10 seconds into the film ? If it is, it seems strange that this is still used when so many more up to date means of communication are available.
