Re: NEW SHIPYARD FOR THE CLYDE?

Inchgreen DD and Ferguson Marine were included in this year's Doors Open Days - when we went round the dock I was talking to the Peel Ports guys about the DD and its future. They said that there were discussions ongoing with quite a few different parties (including Jim McColl) with regards to the le...

Nice one Brian, She had issues with her port propeller pitch control so I've heard. It was thought to have been resolved when she was in Garvel Greenock earlier in the Month but re-surfaced on the run down to Troon. I think shes now on the Islay route as Heb Isles is sailing in place of LoTI at the ...

Great to see her being re-commissioned - I think the red suits her lines nicely - makes her look longer!! The only things I would've liked to see (but not viable on cost) : 1. Shot blast the hull and repaint - the current job looks OK from a distance but the condition of the steel is all too obvious...

Hi Gerry,

She was towed from KGV to D&B Marine, Roseneath by Anglegarth last Wed night. As far I am aware she is occupying the berth vacated by Saturn earlier that day.

Not sure when breaking will start - they still had some work to do on the sub they're currently breaking over there.

The current rumblings are that she has been re-activated and could be capable of making the voyage from Roseneath to Drydock (now looking like Tuesday) under her own power but more than likely will be a dead tow. As for the future who knows what Pentland Ferries' ultimate goal is but I doubt she'll ...

She must be in warm layup mode as the AIS transponder is no longer transmitting.

As Stuart says - this isnt the weather to be sailing the old girl -she should be tucked up at GSC for the winter!!
