HMS Kingfisher spent some time at Fairlie in the early 1940's, attached to the ASDIC research establishment which had been evacuated there.

No, the second one is Fairlie, with Fyfe's old boatyard on the left, probably taken from the steamer pier.

I was at the launch of HMS Cobham at Fairlie, aged 13 years. I remember that after the launch it was found that there had been no rope securing her to the shore and one of the shipyard apprentices stripped to his pants and swam out with one!

City of Adelaide's website now reports
"The 'City of Adelaide' (a.k.a. 'Carrick') is likely to depart Irvine Harbour near High Tide at 11:00am-11:30am BST on Tuesday 17 September 2013. However, forecast bad weather could further delay departure.."

latest info from the C of A website suggests 8-8:30a.m.on Sunday 15th as the departure date, DV & WP
