There is a report on the Fleetmon website which says that on 29th April off Ireland’s west coast she lost her rudder and started drifting. She was taken in tow the following day and brought to Rothesay Dock (her original destination, having departed Galway).

PS WAVERLEY exited dry-dock mid-afternoon yesterday, spent last night moored up at CHQ.

Set off at 0930hrs BST this morning, got to about a mile west of the CAPTAYANNIS before turning downriver, currently making a healthy 14.5 knots.

Must say, would agree with Twotel - MSC MERAVIGLIA is not the most attractive cruise ship – IMHO she looks like a condominium with an industrial power plant on top……

Left Garvel Drydock Tuesday 1st May, temporally docked at CHQ, then headed off back to the Science Centre, but(worryingly) was assisted the whole journey by tugs BATTLER and BRUISER.

Yes, exited the Garvel Drydock early 1st May, moored alongside in JWD then headed up to Uig on Skye – arrived there around 0830hrs this morning. Subsequently sailed to Lochmaddy, there as at this time.

Situation seems to be escalating – Calmac have announced a cessation of services from Ardrossan to Campbeltown, in view of the prolonged dry-docking of MV CLANSMAN.

She’s been in Garvel since 22nd March, apparently due to parts of her propulsion system having to be sent to Denmark for specialist repair.

Because of this, Calmac has had to make fairly significant changes to timetables at several locations, in order to maintain and prioritise essential services.

Looks like CHIEFTAIN was in Rothesay Dock at the same time as ISLAND PRINCESS…….she’s currently heading downriver, having departed 1100hrs BST.

As Paul rightly points out above, CHIEFTAIN will take over the Kilgreggan/Gourock run – maybe they were having a wee hand-over party…………

Finally worked out where she went – would seem she spent the last few days at Rothesay Dock from where she departed this morning at 0800hrs BST and headed back to JWD, arriving around 1045hrs BST.

Just leaves the question – why?

Tugs AYTON CROSS and ANGLEGARTH met her off Gourock around 1030hrs BST, currently approaching Dumbarton.

To see her, ETA Erskine Bridge around 1200hrs BST, Renfrew Ferry about 30 minutes later.

Looks like POMORZE is about to leave us – destination now set to Ust-Luga in Russia (in the Gulf of Finland, between Estonia and Finland) ETA 2100hrs 4th April.
