Would appear that the bridge will cross the river immediately west of the old fitting-out basin for Simons Lobnitz yard, west of the Renfrew Ferry Crossing route. Another website has the comment she was "off-service due to 'generator fault' ".

Another”Biggie” that slipped up the river while I had my back turned - moored at Shieldhall earlier today.

224.91m x 32.31m, draft 7.9m – carrying animal feed, arriving from San Lorenzo Argentina, via Belfast.

Looks like today's cruise to Lochranza (via Rothesay Largs and Millport) went off without any major problems.

However, reading the data on Marine Traffic, would appear she didn't spend as much time at Lochranza as per timetable?

SERENESSIMA departed Stornoway around 1300hrs yesterday, short stay at Garbh Eilean, reversed course and an overnight voyage round the north of Lewis and Harris, then down to St Kilda – due in Barra around midnight tonight.

That'll be a "YES" - currently crossing the Kilcreggan-Gourock line, heading 256 degrees and making a healthy 15.3 knots.

Yes, departed GCHQ around 1000hrs, sailed down the Firth, went as far as due west of Wemyss Bay where she reversed course and headed back up as far as off Greenock Esplanade where she turned and did it all over again!

Currently passing the Esplanade again - wonder if she’ll go for a third lap?

Got to Renfrew about 5 minutes too late - FLAG LEVI just passing through as I arrived.

SVITZER MILFORD leading, AYTON CROSS on the bow and ANGLEGARTH on the stern.

As Willie says above "beautiful she ain't". Managed a few pics, unfortunately no bow shots - will see tonight if any are worth posting.

Looks like FLAG EVI will be departing today - showing a destination of "East Coast USA" (that covers a multitude!), tugs BRUISER and ANGLEGARTH are already in the Shieldhall area. AYTON CROSS and SVITZER MILFORD heading upriver, currently passing Dumbarton at 12 knots.

Good spot Craig - FLAG EVI – Panamanian cargo vessel, built 2014, 228.92m x 32.24m, deadweight 82,629t, so definitely a “biggie”. At midnight she was due east of Ardrossan, passed GOT around 0200hrs where tugs ANGLEGARTH and AYTON CROSS (don’t know if there was a third) met and escorted her up-river...

Let's do some maths here - Initial cost $320,000,000 two years ago, re-sale value now - $80,000,000.

That implies depreciation rate of 50% per annum on Written Down Value - so unless ships like this have a very short shelf-life (unlikely), then someone got a bargain........ :shock:

Just had a look at the "Friends of TS Queen Mary" website - seems she will be berthed at the Science Centre, beside PS WAVERLEY - that will be a good sight to see......

Not clear if the intention is to continue with the restoration work, or if this is where she will over-winter.

Reading elsewhere that TS QUEEN MARY is currently moving up-river - only activity showing on Marine Traffic is BATTLER passing the Renfrew Ferry, making 5.5 knots - assuming the two are connected - literally!

Anyone know where she is heading?
