ATHELMONARCH 1928

Contacts are seeking plans for ATHELMONARCH of 1928 by Hamilton, as her wreck has probably been located near Jaffa.
Does anyone know if plans survive from this period please?

Great sense of humour indeed, and could take a bit of a ribbing in his stride, remember the famous 'pinny and marigolds' photo, we never let him forget that one! And we learned so much about his beloved Eriskay and its special weed .... sorry Angus, flower! And the sun always shone on Troon-sur-Mer ...

Whitby yacht

This view at Whitby is from circa 1900 and the rather lovely paddle vessel looks to us more like a private yacht than an excursion ship .... on the chance that she may have been one of the many built on the Clyde, does anyone recognise her?

Angus, it was a TV drama, so not a real passenger but they had woven the GEM into the story as a means of getting a lady from London and being washed up drowned at Scarborough ... so although fiction, someone had done some homework on real shipping which I thought both unusual and commendable!
