NNAMDI AZIKIWE-Completed by Swan Hunter in 1963 and named after Nigeria's first President.Taken in KG5 in 1973.

Uruguayan registered ESTEMAR II at King George V Dock in April 1976. She was built in 1950 as VIATOR for Scandinavian owners and broken up on Gadani Beach in 1980.

LONDON CRAFTSMAN-London and Overseas Freighters' smart general cargo ship taken in KG5 in March 1976.
She was Swedish built in 1963 and as with most of her type was sold on, becoming PINDAROS later in 1976.
She had a long life arriving as DON at Chittagong 28th October 1990 for scrapping.

CANOPIC was completed in 1954 by Vickers Armstrong's yard at Walker-on-Tyne in 1954 for Shaw Savill Line.
She stayed with them until the mid-1970s when she was sold and renamed CAPETAN NICOLAS under which name she was scrapped in 1986.
I took this in King George V Dock in 1964.

BIA RIVER was Japanese built in 1965 for Ghana's Black star Line and I took this in King George V Dock in London in 1974.
She remained with the Black Star Line for all her working life and was scrapped on Gadani Beach in 1987.

27007 and 27014 heading out of Glasgow Central with the 1135 to Stranraer during 1984. Two Class 27s were supposed to work these trains but because of troubles especially in the winter when heating boilers very rarely worked this hardly happened so it was an event to be recorded when on this occasio...

BRCW Type 2/ Class 26 26025 leaving Edinburgh Waverley with the 1425 to Dundee just before Christmas 1981.
Sharp eyed might notice that the NB Hotel clock reads 1430. However the Dundee is on time as the Hotel clock was kept 5 minutes fast to save folk missing their trains.

During the 1970s a fine series of conventional general cargo liners for Andrew Weir/s Bank Line were built at Sunderland. BEAVERBANK was one of these and I photographed her at Grangemouth in 1976.
In 1981 sold she became SANJOHN BAY and as LUCKY 25 arrived at Alang on 30th May 1998 to be broken up.
