Re: WAVERLEY 2013

Can someone give me a good reason why the Waverley can't sail in Scottish waters - June to end of September - and Balmoral do the same in the South and make money? Why have Waverley sail south - with all of the fuel expense - for six weeks whilst Balmoral sits tied up?

Re: WAVERLEY 2013

If trying to keep the Balmoral "afloat" "sinks" the Waverley then that wouldn't be a tragedy but downright incompetence and shocking. Clear thinking and no nostalgia is needed. Better to have one ship sailing successfully - the Waverley - than two sinking together.

A lot of people are complaining about the prices but if they are reduced then there is less income? The restaurant can only hold a certain number of passengers. Re: WAVERLEY 2013

Possibly it has problems. I got off at Helensburgh last night. Waverley didn't go alongside Helensburgh pier in it's usual manner. The passengers disembarked whilst Waverley was at an angle at the east end of the pier. It then reversed well to the west of the pier before turning to head for Greenock...

Bob. Waverley's ticketing "technology" is still in the dark ages. Another example is that even if you buy a ticket online and print out "this is your ticket", you still have to go to the purser's office to convert it into a proper ticket. What a waste of everyone's time and effort. Timekeeping is a...

I was aboard yesterday and rumour has it that the Waverley hierarchy has been "warned" about the Waverley's timekeeping.
