At the outset let me say I have no experience/knowledge of ship transportation. Therefore speaking as a layman, I cannot see the viability of this exercise, although I respect the wishes of city of Adelaide. The Carrick (as I’ve known her from her days at the Broomielaw in Glasgow) is in very poor c...

It could be the Holy Loch sailing club rescue boat. It sits on a trailer and is moved about a bit. "Holy Loch sailing club rescue boat" - "Hlsc Rescue 1" - good enought for me. The AIS icon was on top of four parked cars on the seaward side of Marine Parade in the original picture, which supports t...

Strange Appearance on AIS?

For the last hour or so, AIS is showing "Hlsc Recue 1" as being on Marine Parade, the main road between Dunoon and Hunter's Quay - and I mean "on" - zoom in, and it is (literally) on the road. AIS info indicates "Military Ops" and no photos are available. Speed/Course: 23.1 kn / 190˚ Length x Breadt...

Still doing 13.7 knots, now due west of Troon - another 3 to 4 hours to get home. Don't know the rules and regulations regarding rest periods for the crew, but the Sunday sailing must be dependent on those.
