02-09-2013 : At Ayr : FRI LANGESUND/BEN VARREY/LISA-C

Spent an hour down in Ayr today and paid a visit to the old harbour. Three ships seen down there as follows :


M.V. FRI LANGESUND
Built in 1997, Yard No. 910, by Galati SN of Galati, Romania, as A.B. DUBLIN for W. Bockstiegel GmbH & Company, Reederei, KG ms "A.B. DUBLIN" of Emden, Germany. Launched in September 1996 but only completed in April 1997 as SAAR DUBLIN. Name changed back to A.B. DUBLIN in 1999 under same ownership but with change of Port of Registration of Saint John, ATG. In 2012, vessel ownership changed to Fri Langesund A/S, name changed to FRI LANGESUND and Port of Registration to Gibraltar.

GRT : 2,844 tons DWT : 4,211 tons


M.V. BEN VARREY
Built in 1986, Yard No. 522, by Bodewes of Hoogezand, Netherlands, as M.V. TRIUMPH for Beck's Agency. Launched in August and completed in September of 1986. Acquired by the Ramsey Steamship Company, Isle of Man, in 1999.

63.8 metres x 11.9 metres
GRT : 997 tons DWT : 1,544 tons


M.V. LISA - C
Built in 2007, Yard No 632, by the Spanish Freire Shipyard of Vigo, for Carisbrooke Shipping, Cowes, Isle of Wight

89.8 metres x 14.5 metres
GRT : 2,999 tons DWT : 5,000 tons
