Extract from Iain Harrisons "A Curious Venture", a history of Harrisons(Clyde) Ltd;

Stirling Shipping was incorporated as a wholly owned subsidiary of HCL in 1965 to hold several of our shipowning interests separate from the management company. In the early years it owned a couple of coastal vessels, Voreda and Virgilia, built by the Van Diepen shipyard at Groningen, Holland, and entered in a pool, managed by the Danish shipowner, Otto Danielson.
The launches were spectacular, sideways into the canal, but the trading results were less spectacular, not much better than break even. The coastal market was in the doldrums and both vessels were sold in 1975. It was a disappointment.
