Palmers, Hebburn in 1950

This was taken in August 1950. In the dry-dock is Wave Ruler, also in the photo are Esso Aberdeen and Esso Birmingham. 15 years after this photo was taken i'd be walking through those gates to start to "serve my time". The yard was very much changed by then with the big dock having just been opened.

Fine one indeed, did we ever work out names of any other ships on this one, looks like a whale factory at centre with the white riband?
