EMPRESS OF CANADA

Post by Deepol » Tue Dec 13, 2011 1:39 pm

Some memories of the 1961 built Canadian Pacific liner from Vickers Armstrong at Walker. She was a regular on the Clyde along with EMPRESSES of BRITAIN and ENGLAND.
In 1972 she was sold to the infant Carnival Cruises and became their MARDI GRAS. She then became OLYMPIC, STAR OF TEXAS, APOLLON under which name she was seen on the Clyde again. Then she became OLYMPIC 2004, APOLLON again and in December 2003 as APOLLO she went to Alang.

A couple of shots showing her in the revised CP colours and how Carnival adapted those to make their eventually well known livery.
