PENDENNIS CASTLE

Post by Deepol » Wed Jan 31, 2018 7:33 am

She was completed by Harland and Wolff at Belfast in 1958 for the Union Castle mail service to South Africa.
Following the end of the Mail Service in 1977 she then became OCEAN QUEEN and SINBAD being broken up as SINBAD I in 1980.
She was beset with labour problems during her construction and it was this that prompted Union Castle to end their long association with Harland and Wolff and place their next order at Clydebank which became TRANSVAAL CASTLE.
