Exeter has been acquired as part of a job lot with her 2 sisters Southampton & Nottingham, which will follow in the coming weeks.
Have recently demolished Invincible and previously 3 other type 42's, Cardiff, Glasgow & Newcastle.
Should know their way around these expired 42's by now so presumably each will go quicker than the last.

Of the original 10 built, that now leaves Liverpool alone, still fully operational in fact.

Nottingham, the 3rd of the trio was due to follow in the wake of Southampton tomorrow, Tues 18th Oct.
Tow by tug Spartan, IMO 7725403.
However, this appears to now be delayed.
Campbeltown & Chatham, 2 of the paid off 22's, are being shifted to the Pompey harbour trots during the day.

Nottingham under tow of Spartan leaving at 0900 weds 19th for Turkey, 24 hrs later than scheduled.

Of the 10 original 42's, that only leaves Liverpool, and she continues as a front line active destroyer.

Manchester and Gloucester will be the next pair of 42's to have their fates determined. They are the stretched type, with Edinbugh and York still in commission.

Another recent arrival there between the Exeter and Southampton is the Canadian coast guard ship Alert, 23 Oct 2011 being her date with fate.

Nottingham under tow by Spartan, should have arrived At Aliaga am today, Sat 12 Nov 2011.
Liverpool remains in service, but not long before she too ends her career.
So, that is all 10 of the RN's original type 42's accounted for.

There are 2 more however, still afloat.
ARA Hercules and Santissima Trinidad, both still serving in the South Atlantic under the Argentine flag, their true capabilities being a little uncertain.
