CONTENDER BEZANT to ARGUS

Post by Deepol » Wed Feb 24, 2016 12:24 pm

CONTENDER BEZANT was a ro-ro cargo/container ship built at the Breda yard at Marghera in Italy in 1981.
In 1984 she was bought by the Ministry of Defence and went to Harland and Wolff at Belfast for a 4 year conversion to a Helicopter Training Vessel part of the RFA being renamed ARGUS a role she still performs.

Does she not double up as a hospital ship? I think she went to Sierra Leone during the Ebola outbreak.
