NATO at Gourock

Cutting of a NATO Fleet Review off Gourock in the 1950s. Have fun identifying the ships and steamers at Gourock Pier.

Paul - this looks like Autumn 1952 and the first major Nato exercise "Mainbrace". The left hand carrier will be the then very new HMS Eagle and the nearest one USS Midway or USS Franklin D Roosevelt - both took part - maybe the vessels at the entrance to Loch Long is one of them with a support ship alongside..

Thanks for the posting.
