Hyndland diversion

Post by Deepol » Wed Oct 19, 2011 12:59 pm

Class 37 37412 with the diverted Blyth to Fort William alumina train in 1986 because of big engineering works at Cowlairs. It also saw the return of being able to travel on a loco hauled train between Queen Street Low Level and Partick as the WHL passenger trains stopped there as well as their usual Dalmuir call.

Top pic no longer possible as 1960s concrete bridge has been demolished as part of the improvements brought about by the DDA compliant lifts/bridge at the north/west of the station.

Viewed from my back window views of 37/4s with diverted West Highland trains on the Kelvin Viaduct. The remnants of Partick Central in the foreground.
