Last from Tyne Dock
Post by Deepol » Wed Nov 19, 2014 11:18 am
Two old cuttings of the last steam hauled ore train from Tyne Dock to Consett on November 19th 1966 which was named the Tyne Docker for the occasion after which the 10 specially adapted Class 9F 2-10-0 locos were withdrawn from service.

I love this shot of 92064 at I think Tyne Dock shed showing the bits and pieces lying around typically in a steam shed.
She was one of the batch adapted with air pumps for operating the ore hopper wagon doors on the Consett trains.
