A Bill Scott gem from the 60s, Britannia 70001 LORD HURCOMB taking water at Stirling on the 9.25am from Crewe to Perth. Bill used to take the odd run on this train a regular Britannia duty. I started to do runs towards the end of 1965 from Motherwell to either Stirling or Perth up until steam ceased on it in April 1966 but we never met. The train itself was extended later to start from Birmingham and lasted till the 1970 timetable change I think when it became a Birmingham to Glasgow and Edinburgh worked by double headed Class 50 diesels.

70008 Black Prince at Carlisle in 1966 waiting to take over the 9.25am Crewe to Perth. This was a regular job for her and I had quite a few runs behind her on that train between Carlisle and Perth and Motherwell and Stirling.
