Horwich Shunter WREN

Post by Deepol » Fri May 20, 2016 11:06 am

The 18" gauge shunter built by Beyer Peacock in 1887 to serve on the internal rail system in the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway's works at Horwich. She is the only survivor of eight and at one time was on display at the entrance to the old Transport Museum in Clapham where we always used to laugh about tripping over it as we went in!
She is now at the NRM and this is one of a selection of shots of her Mike Redmayne sent to me on visits there.
