A bit of a bump...

Post by Deepol » Wed Jul 06, 2016 9:10 am

Mike Redmayne sent me this press photo recently, unknown photographer of an altercation at Victoria on December 9th 1949 when 34085 501 SQUADRON apparently passed a signal at danger-SPAD as it's called today- and collided with the arriving Golden Arrow. There were six casualties none serious apparently.
Mike did remark that the whole thing was cleared up the next day and the station seemed to function normally. Today the place would still be closed!!

Another shot courtesy of Mike showing her rebuilt arriving at my favourite SR station, Surbiton where I spent a happy fortnight's holiday in 1960- not in the station more's the pity!!
