45501 ST DUNSTAN'S

Post by Deepol » Mon Nov 15, 2010 5:59 am

One of the original two LNWR Claughtons rebuilt into the Patriot Class, (4)5501 started life as 5902 SIR FRANK REE and was renamed after the posh London school after rebuilding in 1930.
This I think is at the end of her days as she seems to have lost her nameplate. She was withdrawn in September 1961.
The name SIR FRANK REE was later given to 5530 itself rebuilt and becoming BR's 45530.
A completely new Patriot Class loco is proposed I think.
