Here we go again ........

Tug BATTLER left Greenock around noon today (BST) on her own, heading up-river - currently passing Clydebank. What is she going to do? Don't know, gonna just wait and see.........

BATTLER now returning down-river, having spent about 90 minutes in KGV Dock.

I suspect she was assisting with sinking the barge and floating off HMS MEDWAY, ready for towing down to Scotstoun tomorrow - see post by bgoutcher in seperate thread HMS MEDWAY.

Missed this one – YEOMAN BANK, bulk carrier, 204.95m x 27.26m with a 6.2m draught - arrived at Shieldhall this morning around 0800hrs. Previous port unknown, not on the Arrivals Section.

Surprisingly, currently (1930hrs BST) now departing Shieldhall, tugs ANGLEGARTH, SVITZER MILFORD and AYTON CROSS assisting – have just done the 180 degree turn, now heading downriver.

Destination Glensanda, in the Western Highlands.

This must be one of the quickest turn-around for a while – at Shieldhall for only 11 hours?

There's a very larger bulker JAGUAR MAX (229m x 32m) anchored in Brodick Bay at the moment. Came from Belfast but doesn't have a destination showing on AIS. One to watch tomorrow - could be on its way up to Shieldhall. If it is I think at 229m it will be the biggest one that's been up river for a while.

Yes, I saw them passing Greenock esplanade at 7.45am today and then went for a closer look at Custom House Quay. She looked to be just about empty. Anglegarth had a line attached from her stern.

Following a very interesting Doors Open Day presentation at Ferguson Marine yesterday, I was lucky to see Jaguar Max outbound at Langbank, accompanied by Ayton Cross and Anglegarth, from the McGills' bus on the way home.

Lucky you, Arthur - unfortunately I wasn't paying attention at the right time to see the 'warning' signs -
destination change, tugs moving up-river, etc.

Maybe next time......
