Post by gerrydee » Fri Oct 07, 2011 7:55 pm

Launched 05-06-1962
Name Changes 1965 SALIMIAH
1973 NORWEGIAN SEA
1976 YUC CHUN
1979 YU CHUN
1984 QING FENG SAN HAO
STILL ACTIVE 2006.

A year or so after she entered service I was sent by LITHGOWS to do some work on her and the then Chairman of the owners a Lord something or other, I think his name had Glen as part of it came up and asked me if I had worked on her when she was being built ,I said yes I did he then said you should be proud having worked on the building of this wonderful ship, he said she was a one of as she he said was the perfict ship he said everything on the ship was in the right place and everything worked like clockwork ,and that was something that never happened before the perfect ship.
Maybe he was right when you see she is still active all these years later.

Gerry,
You're "Lord" would be the famous Sir Alexander (Sandy) Glen, chairman of Clarksons.
