Post by riverman » Wed Aug 14, 2013 5:08 pm

The newly erected radar mast at the degaussing station at Rosneath Point is now sporting a second radar scanner. :D

Very prominent when viewed from Greenock - some compensation for losing Inverkip chimney I guess:)

Och, Alan, that's a doddle, look at all the spars and angles on the way down, to grab and hang onto in the event of an unplanned and rapid descent ..... !

P.S. It's not the going up the ladder that poses the risk, it's leaving it at a high rate knots that causes the damage ! :o

Could this be a replacement radar station for the one on the old Coastguard building? It seems a little pointless retaining a big disused building for a radar!

Just a thought as I would have surmised the owners will want to sell soone rather than later...

I believe this is the case after speaking to one of the steel erectors.
