Currently in an area where AIS is not productive – last reported position, nearly four hours ago, is approx. just short of half way up the Portuguese coast (on reflection, that’s not a very accurate position report!).
Around 65 miles north of last reported position, still showing as maintaining 12.2 knots – I’ll stick with “ETA Glasgow early hours 17th March”.
Present speed is showing as 11.7 knots, so content with forecasted ETA “early hours of Saturday 17th March”.
Assuming no hold-ups for tug assistance if required etc I reckon ETA Shieldhall 0500–0600hrs tomorrow.
Currently about 23 miles south of the Belfast-Cairnryan line, estimated ETA Great Cumbrae 0200hrs Saturday.
Been swotting up on tides – next high tide at Glasgow is 0114hrs Sunday 18th March, next is 1331hrs same day.
So would seem the intention is to get to Shieldhall at/around 1330hrs.....
However, tomorrow looks to be another good sunny day – high tide in Glasgow is 1446hrs (not mentioning the one at 0225hrs – they wouldn’t, would they?) so I’m looking forward to that.
Tugs CMS WARRIOR, BRUISER and BATTLER are currently up at KGV Dock, presumably there to assist CEMVALE begin her passage to Belfast, ETA 0700hrs tomorrow.
Perhaps Thursday will be POMORZE’s day……….
Problem I have with the tugs is that they tend to switch off their AIS about 30 minutes before arrival – we don’t “see” what they are doing (unless, like you, you’re “on the scene”)

Managed to get to Renfrew in time to see her - quite satisfying, having tracked her since 9th March when she was anchored in Gibraltar.
Not enamoured with my pics, seem rather dark - however, here's a few.......
See another “biggie” lurking on the horizon (in Brodick Bay actually!) – bulk carrier PESSADA coming in from San Lorenzo in Argentina via Belfast carrying animal feed - 225m x 32.2m, dwt 75,484t.
ETA Glasgow showing as 0700hrs this morning but anchored off Brodick around 0300hrs……
Assume having to wait for POMORZE to depart before she can come upriver?
Three tugs, ANGLEGARTH, AYTON CROSS and SVITZER MILFORD currently heading upriver, no doubt to assist.
Next high tide in Glasgow is 0106hrs Friday, which would fit……….
Allows PESSADA to head upriver tomorrow, ETA Glasgow 1300hrs.
To see her, ETA Erskine Bridge around 1200hrs BST, Renfrew Ferry about 30 minutes later.

Unfortunately not able to get down to the river today to see PESSADA leaving us.
The vessel’s track indicates she departed Shieldhall around 1345hrs UTC (1445hrs BST), as accurately indicated by _on_the_clyde_ yesterday.
Interestingly, Marine Traffic record her ATD as 1546hrs UTC – reckon this is a typo…….according to her track, she was passing Dumbarton at this time.
Currently passing the south-east corner of Arran making 13 knots, her destination is, co-incidentally, Ust-Luga in Russia ETA 1500hrs 13th April – same destination as the previous “biggie” at Shieldhall POMORZE – see posts above, around 29th March.
