BRIAN
Thanks for visiting ANGUS I am sure he would have enjoyed your company . You would have had the chance to bring him up to date about the comings and goings in the docks around your area.
Every day I go into clydesite and clydemaritime to see if ANGUS has posted so hopefully after your visit he might have something to tell us about your visit.
GERRY

Hi Brian. Sorry to have missed you - the service was very nice and a fitting tribute to a well-loved gentleman. Got to admit that I'm still feeling somewhat emotional this afternoon.

Didn't spot you Stuart and I had to rush off to get back east so didn't make it to the hotel. It was a lovely service and such well earned tributes were paid to one of life's true gentlemen. Sorry Brian, I wouldn't have recognised you but it would have been nice to meet up.

Alasdair - I was looking out for you, but (obviously) didn't see you which is a pity. It was a wee while before I got out the church and said hello to the family. Likewise, I didn't go the hotel afterwards as I had to get home to do some 'proper' work. I had a quick chat with Paul Hunter and Allan Mackay, who introduced themselves to me.

What a great photo that is of him as a wee boy - wearing his dad's cap on his dad's ship perhaps? When I saw it this morning the first thing that struck me was how recognisable he was then, with that great big mischievous smile, as the Angus that we knew so much later in his life.
