All seems to be well, WAVERLEY now at the north end of Cardigan Bay, speed a healthy 12.9 knots and heading 1 degree west of north.

About two and a half hours from now will be crossing the Dublin/Holyhead line, about 50 miles west of Holyhead.

You would think she could sense she was nearly home - now steaming between Bute and the Big Cumbrae at 14.2 knots!

PS Waverley's last call of the season 2016 at Helensburgh-sur-Mer and her trip up Loch Long via Kilcreggan and Blairmore. Unfortunately it was to be a rather dreich day but this didn't dampen the spirits of those on board. :)

Anyone know what happened to her today? She was alongside at Greenock for an hour and a half. The weather at Largs was absolutely awful and quite a few folks as well as the group I was with decided not to wait for her.

Marvellous pics Paul – you obviously did a lot of “shadowing” the old girl to get all these; quite a few are from unusual angles – well done, great stuff.

Her original schedule today was Greenock/Largs/Rothesay/Tighnabruaich and back – as Alasdair raised as above, this was obviously changed at some point, possibly Greenock – the fact that she completed the day (currently {1924hrs BST} heading home passing BAE Systems Scotstoun yard) implies it wasn’t mechanical, so presume the schedule alteration was weather-related.

Now safely berthed at her home beside the Science Centre, PS WAVERLEY has completed another season.

Here’s hoping it was a financially successful one, and we can look forward to another season in 2017.

Hi Allan, she stopped short at Rothesay where she stayed for about an hour before returning to Largs and then home.
