Thought it worthwhile to start a new thread which relates to cruise ships coming into Greenock, which is reported to create a substantial income to the Inverclyde area.

Would encourage everyone to contribute to this thread.

Well, we’ve seen the Arrival and Departure of MSC MERAVIGLIA – see separate thread “MSC MERAVIGLIA” with excellent pictures of the ship on her arrival taken by Riverman.

Hot on her heels, we have ROYAL PRINCESS (139,000 grt, 4,610 pax) arriving Monday 7th May, out of Belfast en route to Invergordon – apparently the third largest cruise ship (she will be back several times) to visit Greenock this year - beaten only by MSC MERAVIGLIA (already passed through) and REGAL PRINCESS still to come.

No worries Paul, appreciate there are lots of threads here, sometimes hard to keep track – just as long as the website as a whole is kept “alive and breathing”, suppose putting things in the right place is very much secondary..

Le Boreal arriving in the pouring rain, smart looking ship though,I prefer the smaller cruise ships.

You were right Gerry,it was a dreichy night,I managed to get her inward before the rain arrived. The changeover was a different story! They changed the hull colour to that attractive grey after Le Boreal's overhaul. It's not often we get two cruise ships passing each other,so I thought it worth recording.Cheers Williemac

Before the "evening pics" come in - yes, great pictures guys, thanks for posting - always said QUEEN VICTORIA is a good example of a very acceptable mixture of "old" and "new" cruise ships........
