Govan Ferry

Post by Richard D » Sat Dec 11, 2010 5:57 pm

Glasgow City Council have issued a tender notice for the operation of a new pedestrian ferry from their planned new landing stage at Water Row, Govan to the Clyde Maritime Trust's landing stage and slipway which is soon to be built in the River Kelvin beside the new transport Museum. The Trust have established a subsidiary called Kelvin Harbour Limited to build and manage the slipway and landing stage.

You can view the tender here:

There is no subsidy for the ferry, but the operator will have exclusive use of the landing stage at the Govan side. It is estimated that about 15% of all visitors to the new Riverside Museum will choose to travel via Govan Cross subway and the new ferry.

Doesn't work either. Do those links perhaps require the user to be logged in to the quoted site before they can read them?
