Leuchards 2010 - Battle of Britain Memorial Flight

On this 70th anniversary of the battle, these were especially welcome guests. Nice touch was the playing of WInston Churchill's famous speech being played over the loudspeaker system.

The Lancaster is named City of Lincoln.
Why is that please and do the other 2 have names.

Stab in the dark........

During the War various Cities and Towns used to have collections and pay for an Aircraft and it was named after the City/Town.

Possibly this one was paid for by Public Subscription by Lincoln.
