EXPRESS vessels

Post by Henk » Mon Oct 04, 2010 4:25 pm

All these vessels where renamed Abeer and Aquaria ships in 2006/2007, but within one year Svitzer sold all shares in those companies and all vessels where deleted from the Mother company

I didn't found one single picture of these vessels named EXPRESS and a number between 19 and 54.

As I understand it - but please correct if wrong:

1993 Abeer Marine Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd, Singapore founded
4/2006 Purchased 50/50 by Wilh Wilhelmsen ASA (Wilship) and Svitzer-Wijsmuller (Svitzer Far East) and renamed Express Offshore Transport (Singapore) Pte Ltd
7/2007 sold to Macquarie Group Ltd, Australia and merged with Miclyn Offshore Pte Ltd; combined company renamed Miclyn Express Offshore Pte Ltd.

Abeer Marine Services (Singapore) Pte Ltd had subsidiary (already established in 1990?) Abeer Marine Services Ltd, Hong Kong.
2006 renamed Express Offshore Transport Ltd, Hong Kong (and still has this name)

PT Aquaria Shipping, Jakarta apparently continues to be "closely associated" with Svitzer

Uniwise Offshore Ltd, Bangkok was joint venture of United Thai Shipping Corp Ltd (Unithai) and Svitzer (or perhaps more likely, Express Offshore Transport (Singapore) Pte Ltd).

Vessels owned during 2006/7 (including newbuildings ordered before 7/2007):

As far as I can see, your list is right David. From all those :"Associated" companies, all shares where sold in 2007. The only one I am not sure is PT Aquaria Shipping - Jakarta. That company could as you said: "apparently continues to be "closely associated" with Svitzer".
May Jos could tell us more?

Finished my glass :D ;

Express Offshore was established by the following moves ;

Singapore based Clew Enterprises started a jointventure with Wijsmuller Marine Services (Far East) Pte. Ltd. in 1985.
Later the company name switched to CW Marine.

CW Marine managed the vessels from Cuig Maritime. Vessels name starts with AVON-.

In 2002/2003, the fleet was taken over by Uniwise Offshore Ltd, Singapore. By this change, the AVON-vessels changed the names started with UNIWISE.

Another JV from Wijsmuller was with the Indonesian company PT Aquaria Shipping (Year 2000). For this JV were build in 2002 three new fastsupplyvessels KALTIM MEKAR, -MAJU & -MEKAR, and also 3 fast pilot-/crewtenders ; MAHAKAM SERVICE 1-2-3 > Under management from Indowise Shipping.

In 2005 (sept.) the Abeer Marine Services as company in the Wilh. Wilhelmsen-group combined forces with SvitzerWijsmuller under the name EXPRESS OFFSHORE TRANSPORT Pte. Ltd. under a 50-50 construction the company started per november 1, 2005. (Other sources from EOT mention the date as per january 2006).

Mentioned were 51 vessels.

Headoffice;
Express Offshore Transport - Singapore

Sub-office; Indonesia
PT Ekspresindo Offshore Transport - Jakarta & Balikpapan

Sub-office; Thailand
Uniwise Offshore - Bangkok, Songkhla & Sattahip

Sub-office; Middles East
Express Offhore Transport (UAE) LLC - Dubai & Ras Tanura

Wilhelmsen / EOT published the merge of the company to Macquarie Bank Ltd. on july 10, 2007 .

And here some details from Unithai ;

1999 -
Uniwise Offshore Ltd created by joint venture
with the Denmark-based CUIG (SvitzerWijsmuller
AP Moller Group), to provide crew-boat services
to the oil and gas industry in Thailand.

2000 -
Unithai's Offshore Division, through CUEL, established
to provide a complete range of services for offshore
facilities.

2006 -
Uniwise Offshore splits into two joint ventures
-
Uniwise Towage Ltd is a joint venture with Wijsmuller
Marine Services, operating Multi-Purpose Offshore
Terminal Tugs (MOTTs) and a utility line boat.
-
Uniwise Offshore Ltd is a joint venture with Express
Offshore Transport, operating Thailand's largest
crew-boat fleet.
