There has been no change of name - it is still SL MURRUMBIDGEE, just altered by some overzealous Svitzerite with a paintbrush who took it upon himself to obliterate the SL. Similarly PB MURRAY & PB DARLING at Newcastle were also altered for a time but again show the PB after recent dockings.

In July 2015 Svitzer and Smit Lamnalco agreed on a three year tug outsourcing ‘Service Level Agreement’ covering the ports of Newcastle, Botany Bay and Melbourne, whereby Svitzer provides towage services to Smit Lamnalco, and entering into bare-boat charters for 6 Smit Lamnalco tugs: PB MURRAY, PB DARLING, PB PLENTY, SL ENDEAVOUR, SL DAINTREE and SL DIAMANTINA. This agreement was extended in December 2017 for a further 2 years, until mid-2020, adding Brisbane port and tug SL MURRUMBIDGEE as part of the agreement, with SL DIAMANTINA returned to SL.
