I think the Lincoln Castle Preservation Society is no longer active.

Doxford. Yes but the society said two years ago that thay would build a new ship from the parts. cost 3m

Unfortunately there were very few, if any, parts salved as the owner made sure of it. I know of people who offered serious money to purchase items and were turned down. A friend witnessed the destruction of the engine by a mechanical cutter :evil:

IIRC the Society hinted at building a new Lincoln Castle from the original plans - somehow I doubt this would ever happen, especially not for only £3m.
