Reeperbahn or in English Ropemaker Lane or Rope Walk is more commonly known for it's famous rope making qualities in the 18th. and 19th. century's. Heavy hemp ropes were produced there for sailing vessels in the port. You learn something new every day. :)

Indeed, you're right Paul! But the ropes today are not used for shipping anymore as you can see from the early-morning bus!. x_x

That must be some bus you travel on, next time ask the driver to take you to the Hamburg Maritime Museum, well worth a visit. :D
