Dredging at the old Elderslie Dry Dock Gates

Would anyone know why BAE were dredging outside the old dock gates
For sometime before xmas

Doubtless in connection with the upgrading of the yard for Type 26s.

They are dredging the entrance to No.1 Drydock, in the anticipation of RCB2 (RN Patrol Vessels) being fitted out at Scotstoun.
