I always get great pleasure from your paintings, they express the movement of the sea and vessels so well. Now I have no wish to be pedantic, or to cause offence, but would I be correct in saying that "send" in ths usage is most often spelt "scend"?

I believe you are correct, spelling never was my strong point. My spell checker and I don't always agree either.
I'll have to make more mistakes at least it gets a reaction.

Ps just checked dictionary, it appears either will do.

Thanks for that, Jim. What brought it to mind was that I read a book some 40 years ago called "The Scend of the Sea", and, of course, I've forgotten the author's name!

Geoffrey Jenkins, the story centred around the disappearance of the Streamer Waratah, a Viscount and a Buccaneer a/c all in the same area.
Other books I remember were 'A Spit of Sand' ,' A Grue of Ice', can't remember any others. I was in Ark Royal when I read the first one and couldn't wait to get ashore for more.

Yes, Jim, that's the one, and was a very good read. Remember the other titles as well.
