Launched this day 2/9/1869 by Barclay, Curle & Co, Glasgow, Clydeholm Yard No 193

Can anyone confirm the launch date? Miraamar has the 2nd of September and the database below the 21st

My Grandfather was apprentice for 4 years ,2nd July 1897 to 1st July 1901 3rd Mate 2nd July to 18th January 1902 . He then joined MacAndrews and became Master taking the S S Colon on her maiden voyage .

Great photos Woody. Loch ness was a really beautiful ship. I remember that my grandfather once told me that his dad saw this ship in 1873.
