PORT ALBERNI CITY: Upper Clyde Shipbuilders Govan 1972

Post by Deepol » Thu Feb 10, 2011 10:13 am

The final ship of the seven ordered by Reardon Smith wearing their dubious light blue upperworks livery which was later dropped!
She had 12 years service before becoming NORTHERN VALLEY and eventually passing into Chinese hands as AN DA in 1997 and broken up in China as that in December 2000.

Thanks, they could certainly throw these things out at Govan but maybe quality suffered as a result as David stated.

Outfitting at Govan on 21 May 1972, with the Brazilian dredger Guanabara on the opposite side of the basin.
