Little known Glasgow enginebuilder
The vessel in question was EMPIRE FAVOUR.
Having since Googled the company name they were better known for sugar milling machinery and in their early years associated through marriage with the shipbuilding Beardmore family, and indeed Beardmore bailed them out financially around 1902.
In later years they became partners with Fletcher of Derby to create Fletcher & Stewart and then came into the Booker Group ownership.
Interestingly Fletchers (also sugar milling machinery manufacturers) built steam engines during WW2 mainly for Empire tugs.
Another piece of unrelated and hitherto unknown info was in relation to J. G. Kincaid post WW2. I was aware of their building B&W engines under licence but yesterday also found that they had built German MAN engines. The two cases identified were in 1954.
