Little gold digger you. Or you.

In this year Lobnitz of Renfrew built two little gold dredgers.
The first was yno 759 of 140grt and shipped for erection at destination. This one was either unnamed or name not known. No other details that i have learnt.
The second was yno 770, smaller at 100grt and named Mary. Apparently for French owners or operators.
By July Lobnitz had shipped one of these for service in French West Africa, described as powerful and built to a design by Messrs Inder and Henderson.
Can anyone help which of this pair this refers, were they for the same owners and operators and did they both serve the same area, either in unison or in competition with another, bearing in mind they differ in size and the one has no name whilst the second was Mary.

Can't help a lot but the WSS list has two abbreviations,
GDr being Gold Dredger
gDr being Grab Dredger.
It appears therefore that the "unknown" yard 759 was for Cie Francaise de Matasoni, French Guiana and was indeed a Gold dredger.
However, the WSS list would indicate that MARY (No 770) was for Cie des Mines de Senegambia and was a Grab dredger.

All that glitters is not gold :!:
