HMS FORTH (to be)

Post by Brianh » Fri Apr 15, 2016 4:13 pm

I believe this is the first of the 3 patrol vessels being built at Govan to tide workers over until the Type 26 frigate building starts . She is expected to be handed over in 2017. With a tonnage of a couple of thousand tons she should be an easy lift for the multiwheel transporters to place her on a slipway for a dynamic launch.

Thanks - same method as used at Portsmouth ? onto barge, down to Yarrows drydock, barge sunk, Forth floated off, out of dock, barge refloated and removed. Any idea of the move ?

Out of shed tomorrow on transporters I'm told, onto barge Monday, KGV Friday, float off Saturday, Yarrows Sunday.
