The Original Clyde Shipping Co demise 1856

Came across these notices when looking for something else. Pity they were not available when we were doing the CSC book.

Edinburgh Gazette edition 6578 of 11 March 1856

WE, the Subscribers, Partners, or Trustees or Mandatories for, or otherwise representing and authorised by, or having power to act for, and taking burden on us for Partners of the Company carrying on Business in carrying Goods and Towing Vessels between Glasgow and other places in the River and Frith of Clyde,&c, under the Name or Firm of The CLYDE SHIPPING COMPANY, having agreed that the said Company should be Dissolved, do hereby declare that the said Company is, and shall be held to be DISSOLVED, as on the 31st day of December 1855; and we dispense with any General Meetings, or other or more formal procedure for that purpose, and declare the said Company to be so Dissolved in the same way, and as effectually in all respects, as if the same had been Dissolved and put an end to in the manner pointed out by the Thirtieth Article of the Contract of Copartnership, and we hereby authorize and empower the present Directors, and the survivors or survivor of them, to carry out the said Dissolution in the manner provided by Article Thirty-third of the Contract, or in such other way as they may consider advantageous; with power to them to make such retiring allowances or compensation to such of the officers or servants of the Company, and to such amount, as they shall think proper.

NOTICE.

THE Company carrying on Business in carrying Goods and towing Vessels between Glasgow and other places in the River and Frith of Clyde, &c., under the Firm of The CLYDE SHIPPING COMPANY, was DISSOLVED on the 31st day of December last, 1855, by consent of all the Partners.
The whole of the Steam-vessels and Lighters, and the Plant and Goodwill of the Company, have been disposed of, and the said Vessels and Lighters will cease to be under the charge and management of the Company on and after the 13th day of March current.
