Shipbreaking at Troon - LADY EMERALD scrapped 1960

Post by Colin Campbell » Thu Nov 23, 2017 11:17 am

Having trouble trying to log into comments page for Troon Shipbreakers.

Can I point out the LAIRDSFORD photograph used for LADY EMERALD (x WAR GARRY - xLADY EMERALD - xCARLOW - xBRITANNY COAST - xKILDARE -xLAIRDSFORD) is not the the correct ship.

The photograph used is an earlier LAIRDSFORD xDUKE OF ROTHESAY xPUMA and in fact shows her at Preston for breaking up. She was the passenger ship between Glasgow?Dublin until scrapped 1934. The second ship was purely cargo/cattle.
Lairdsford at Lancefield Quay, Glasgow
Not a great shot but hpefully correct Troon scrapped ship attached,
