LAIRDSFIELD
It's coming up to 50 years since the capsizing of LAIRDSFIELD off the River Tees on 6 February 1970.
Her crew of 10 were all lost, included 6 Scots, their names are below if anyone interested as there will be a memorial service at Redcar, Yorkshire on 6 February so maybe some descendants might wish to attend?

2nd Engineer Michael Monaghan, Helensburgh
Bosun L. McLean, Glasgow
AB J. McLeod, Glasgow
AB Donald Robertson, Skye
Deckhand E. Thomson, Lossiemouth
Cook/Steward W. Flood, Ardrossan

R.I.P.
George Robinson
Freeman of Eriskay

Thank you for posting this.

I have managed to contact quite a few RNLI personnel who were involved in the rescue attempt that night and they will be at the service. It is going to be a very emotional day.

Appreciate your help in getting the word out.

Service 1pm Thursday 6th February at the Birger Memorial on the Esplanade at Redcar. All welcome.
