Sealight of Glenlight Shipping Ltd

Can anyone provide me will a full history of the above vessel, or alternatively, know of any other site or publication where I might obtain this info? Many thanks.

The info. you require is in the publication The Clyde Shipping Company Glasgow by W.J. Harvey and P.J. Telford with a photo of SEALIGHT by Brian Climie.

She was built in Malta, I was mate on her in 1991 and left her three weeks before the heap of crap stranded at Weaver's Point North Uist. :(

A most fortunate escape!!!...see did look quite tidy when I photographed her in Douglas harbour, July 1989.

I did look at the database, which lists 2 vessels of that name. However the latest vessel was broken up in the early '60's & was a Clyde puffer. The vessel I need,I photographed in1989.

4.4.1970: Keel laid by Malta Drydocks Corporation Ltd., Cospicua, Malta (Yard No. 90) for Eggar Forrester (Holdings) Ltd., (G. T. Gillie & Blair Company Ltd., managers), London.
26.5.1970: Launched.
28.7.1970: Completed.
1974: Buries Markes Ltd., appointed as managers.
1975: Glenlight Shipping Ltd., appointed as managers.
1976: Purchased by the Clyde Shipping Company Ltd., (same managers), Glasgow.
1977: Renamed SEALIGHT.
1988: Sold to Glenlight Shipping Ltd., Isle of Man registry.
12.9.1988: Sustained main engine failure, 10 miles N.W. of Walney Light; taken in tow and arrived Barrow later the same day. 17.9.1988: Sailed for Ramsey. Nature of problem or remedy not reported.
1989: Sold to Glenlight Manx Ltd., (Eaglehurst Ship Management Ltd., managers), Isle of Man.
27.11.1991: Stranded at Weaver’s Point, North Uist, 57.36N., 07.07W., in heavy seas.and was abandoned by her crew.
28.11.1991: Reboarded, refloated and towed initially to Loch Maddy.
4.12.1991: Arrived under tow at Troon and placed in lay-up. Subsequently reported as sold and towed to Port Bannatyne and later Ardmaleish for repairs under the unregistered name MERKELA.
19.5.1993: Lloyd’s Register classification withdrawn when sold to Gardscreen Shipping Ltd., Honduras, and renamed KALI.
10.7.1994: Arrived at Colchester with engine problems.
3.9.1994: Sailed.
1994: Renamed CLEO.
12.1995: Arrived at Rochester, Kent, for demolition.

For anyone who does not have The Clyde Shipping Company, by you know who, she wisn'e built as SEALIGHT. Well, Bill tells us that in the book but he omitted to say here that she wis built as WIS :!:
