Yunnan 1934 HMAS - Armament Store Issuing Ship

HMAS Yunnan
Armament Store Issuing Ship - FL-151
Launched by Scotts Greenock, Yard No 560, on 26/7/1934 as a Cargo Vessel for the China Navigation Co. 9/6/1971 arrived at Hong Kong for breaking up by Leung Yau.
2844 grt
312 ft x 44 ft 2in x 17 ft 6in
1 screw, Scott Diesel, 2SA, 5cy, 1330bhp giving 12.5 knots
1 x 4in, 1 x 40mm Bofors and 2 x 20mm AA guns

Completed in August 1934 for the China Coast Trade
1939 took over the Cobra trade between New Guinea and Hong Kong
23/12/1941 arrived in Freemantle
22/6/1942 requisitioned for use by the RAN and fitted out as a Stores Issuing Ship at Melbourne. Operated in North Queensland and New Guinea waters with a civilian crew.
20/9/1944 commissioned by the RAN as a stores ship, after a refit, and joined Service Force Seventh Fleet, New Guinea
December 1945 sailed for the Leyte Gulf supporting the Lingayen Gulf Landings
June 1945- August 1945 operated in New Guinea, Admiralty Group, Morotai and Tawi Tawi
August 1945 - October 1945 active in Philippines area
October 1945 returned to Sydney for paying off.
31/1/1946 paid off into 'Reserve' at Sydney and passed to the British Ministry of Transport and to
9/5/1946 Returned
September 1959 sold to Thai Navigation Co. Hong Kong and renamed HOCK ANN
May 1963 sold to Guan Guan Enterprises (HK) Ltd and transferred to Guan Guan Shg. Co Ltd , Singapore and renamed KIM HOCK
October 1963 transferred to Hong Kong 5th Sea Shg. Co Ltd. Hong Kong.
May 1964 renamed KARIO
August 1964 to Tptes Maritimos de San Blas S.A. Panama.
1965 transferred to Cia de Nav. Santos S.A., Panama and renamed BAKNA
1966 renamed KARIO
1966 renamed MURCIA
1966 transferred to King Line S.A., Panama and renamed KING EAGLE
1968 transferred to Guan Guan Shg. Co Ltd , Singapore and renamed KIM HOCK
1971 renamed KIM HAI
