The early period of the Post Office Packets, although comparatively straightforward is not especially well documented, a lot of uncertainty exists regarding the acquisitions of ships and their fates.
Redwing was one of the smaller ships and worked out of Liverpool.
Details of her exact fate would be most welcome as well as any type of picture.
Were Messrs Sutherland either ship owners, brokers, breakers or even merchants.
Thanks. E28

It appears a total of 48 post Office Packets were completed between 1821 -1848.
The tonnage for Richmond / Redwing at 139 bm seems remarkably low set against her published dimensions compared with other similar packets, her 15' 9" beam surely excludes the 2 paddle boxes.
Hunter & Dow appear to have not built any other P O Packets.
Virtually the only brief published work on these packets is in Paddle Warships 1815 - 1850 by D K Brown, Conway 1993, where there are only 5 pages and Brown acknowledges his figures are from research by George Osbon, both are now deceased.
