This one seems to have been with SARH a very short time:
blt 1939 Chantier Naval de Rupelmonde, Rupelmonde (Yd ??)

1939 SARH - SA de Remorquage à Hélice" (H Gerling), Antwerpen as HASSELT (BEL flag, reg Antwerp
26/10/1939 sold (possibly through Société Belge de Remorquage) to Compagnie Nazairienne de Remorquage et de Sauvetage, St Nazaire on behalf of the French Navy (Marine Nationale) and renamed MOUFLON. As France had already declared war on Germany, a direct sale to the Navy would be contrary to Belgian's neutral position. By the invasion of Belgium in May 1940 the vessel had been formally transferred from CNRS to the Navy.
3/7/1940 seized at Southampton, on UK Admiralty service at Loch Alsh
1945 returned to French Navy initially in Indo China with the 6th Minesweeping Section
2/1970 condemned, and renamed Q 465
1970 sold commercially to ??

David, do you have an explanation as to what purpose she would serve out there in the Far east,
surely not specifically as a sweeper,
and whether she arrived prior to the Japanese invasions,
or later in 1944 / 45.

I heard this story before, but nobody could gave me some sureness. Even Pol Wijnen didn't mention this ship, but afterwords I have got more questions about HASSELT.
As I said: I don't know, but maybe something to ask in Sleep-& Duwvaart? Could I use that picture asking my question in that article?

As noted, MOUFLON was sent to Indo China only after being returned from the UK after WW2.
Whether she was equipped as an auxiliary minesweeper for river or harbour service, or whether she acted in support of the unit, I don't know.
Later she was returned to France. The photo is apparently at the end of her French naval service, at Toulon.
Henk - I suspect that the image is a Marius Bar photo. Up to you!

I see from TugTalk that Piet van Damme no longer thinks that she was built for SARH - the original owner seems to have been Société Belge de Remorquage.
So perhaps I have made a false entry here!

Well, if this is a mistake, I can understand this. Both companies were always working together very close, but that could make clear I nowwhere found her in an URS/SARH orLETZER list!
Thanks anyway for metioning her David! As I said before, you were not the first one contacted me about her existance!!!
